Working hard pays off. We prove that to ourselves time and time again. So why is it that when things get tough we forget what we’re made of? Why do we forget who we are and what we have accomplished so far?
I get it when we’re in the time of actually hustling and bustling, we think to ourselves when will this end? Is all this work truly worth it? Why am I doing this in the first place? All reasonable and normal questions. The part of that thinking that causes problems is when we start thinking if whether or not we should give up.
Giving up seems tempting, it really does. Often the relief we know we will feel becomes very appealing. The only thing is, is that there will be this little voice in the back of your head saying “what if”? What if you had kept going or what if you had just gone one step further?
Whenever I think about giving up I take a step back from everything and examine if I really want to truly give up. Often times those haste decisions we make to give up on something is just that, a hasty decision. Its not a well-thought-out decision, nor does it reflect all the things, time and energy that you have put in, up to that point.
I understand that sometimes the hard work of the goal you are trying to reach becomes too much, but if it is something you truly want I do not think you should ever give up. Working hard does pay off, and sometimes we just need that small reminder to fuel the rest of our journey.
I hope you never give up on your dreams and keep pushing through.
Hard work pays off.
